And bam. Just like that. I'm home and my life at Pearson is done.
It hit out of nowhere, mid March, 5 days warning to get on a plane and fly home.
Here is something I wrote in my 14 days quarantine when I got home. It's about my last few days at Pearson.
Soon I'll fill in the gaps and post to update you about the rest of my 4th term at Pearson College, but for now, I'll leave you with this. Enjoy :)
I've been telling myself this for the last couple of weeks, and finally there's only one week left.
3rd term has been tough, lots of school work (not all of it's done yet!) and a very busy schedule that means you have no choice but to keep on keeping on. There have been ups and downs, and we've made it through them all - one week until winter break!
Well, until next year of course.
I honestly don't have words to even begin to describe this year. It has been beautiful, and I have made some of the best memories I have ever made. It has also been tough, and I think my hardest times have also been at Pearson.
It's been 8 months. 8 months as a first year at Pearson College, and there's one month left.
This is crazy! I've only very recently realised how long it has actually been, and how short we have left together, year 44/45. This is so sad to think about, so let's not go there yet.
Pearson College has a magazine! Go and check it out here http://firstperson-magazine.com/ to read first hand stories from all over the world!! (written by my friends :)
If you liked an article, shoot me a message and I'll pass it on to the writer, they'd LOVE to hear your feedback!!
I. Am. Exhausted.
So much cool stuff has been happening recently! I'll do my best to fill you in. Since last time I posted, the snow has melted, the daffodils are flowering, there's a phytoplankton bloom in Pedder Bay, One World is done and dusted, I met a lot of parents, and I spent a week kayaking in the Broken Islands up near Tofino.
It's been a while since last time I posted (sorry Mum) but everything is going very well. I'm loving Pearson life as much as ever, and am involved in so many amazing and unique things.
The first week or so back was strange, moving back into the busy rhythm of Pearson life after 3 weeks in London doing so much fun stuff. Seeing everyone again was amazing! I've never felt this much love for this many people before in my life!
So much has happened in the last year. I've changed so much since this time last year. On this day, 2018, I was packing up from another river party, I had just turned 16 and I was getting excited to go to Canada. Since then, I've started year 11, made it to my mid-year exams then dropped out. Worked solidly for a couple of months and had a great study break, gone on holidays in Canada for just over a week with my awesome grandparents and finally began my time at Pearson College.
Winter Break is a week away (21st December) and everyone is getting hyped to go home. My Christmas plans have been finalised and I'll be staying in a host family for a few days before heading off to London on the 25th. It will be strange to have a Christmas away from home, family and everything I'm used to but I'm also super excited to go to LONDON! It's always been on my bucket list, and it's coming a few years earlier than I expected which is awesome.
This month has been insane. There have been so many high points, along with the inevitable low points that come with life. I don't even know where to start. After CAS week, there were a bunch of deadlines I had to meet for almost all of my classes. There were tests, oral presentations, assignments and essays, but at the end of all that I was high on life.
