It's been a while since last time I posted (sorry Mum) but everything is going very well. I'm loving Pearson life as much as ever, and am involved in so many amazing and unique things. The first week or so back was strange, moving back into the busy rhythm of Pearson life after 3 weeks in London doing so much fun stuff. Seeing everyone again was amazing! I've never felt this much love for this many people before in my life! So much has happened since we got back already. A week or so in I went snow camping for the weekend with a bunch of super cool people which was really fun. We went to a place called Forbidden Plateau which is up the island a bit. I spent the night absolutely freezing in a tent, but the next morning it was all worth it because we slid pretty much the entire way down the hill on our butts in the fresh snow.
We also had Asia's birthday party in late January which was really fun, I kind of wish my birthday wasn't on the holidays so that I could have a Pearson birthday because they're so much fun. There were also 3 baby elephant seals born on Race Rocks this year which is the most they've had I think ever. 2 are healthy and growing, but 1 died a couple of weeks ago and with our marine science classes we watched it's necropsy. It was so interesting, even though it was a little bit gross at times. We also have had our first snow on campus. It snowed a tiny bit, then melted, but it snowed again and we had a pretty good blanket for about a week. It's all melting now, I'm watching it drip off the roof out my window while I'm writing this. We've started preparing for One World and are getting into the swing of rehearsals every Sunday for HOURS. We've also started talking about summer break homework for year 45 which is scary, I'm so not ready to leave yet! Today we striked from school and stood outside the Victoria Legislative Building to make a statement about climate justice and the crisis our generation is facing. It was so encouraging to see so many people there, but I left not knowing if I was feeling hopeful or depressed. We have the technologies to fix the problem, but do we have the common sense to implement it? I hope you all survive the heat and don't get washed or burned away, Australia's going crazy! Lots and lots of love to everyone! Bella
